Crews met with Linglestown Fire Company No. 1 - Station 35, Paxtonia 34 Fire Company, and West Hanover Volunteer Fire Company 36 to travel the streets of Linglestown. Thanks to the Linglestown American Legion Post 272 for their Memorial Day Salute during the parade. Since 1962 as started by President Kennedy, this week in May has been proclaimed National Police Week. We get the opportunity to routinely work with Lower Paxton Township Police Department throughout emergencies in Lower Paxton Township and PA State Police on the interstate. Today is Peace Officers Memorial Day in memory of all the officers killed. To date this year, 77 officers have died in the Line of Duty. Last year, 146 officers died in the Line of Duty. Thanks for all the police organizations for everything you do every day! ... See moreSee less

This afternoon, fire, police, and EMS companies around Dauphin County, PA lined up on overpasses and off ramps from the Perry County line to Cumberland County, PA to show respect for Dauphin County Adult Probation officer Allen Proper. Allen passed away in an off-duty motorcycle accident and was being taken from Danville to New Cumberland this afternoon. Ladder 33 was happy to oblige the request by creating an arch with Paxtonia 34 Fire Company on Elmerton Avenue for them to pass under. Not every day in Lower Paxton Fire is going to a fire, but every day is public service, in many many different ways. ... See moreSee less

Engine and Ladder 33 handled a first due box alarm this evening for a kitchen fire with a burn victim. Crews coordinated to arrive at the unique intersection so Engine 33 could have its own water and Ladder 33 the Alpha side which was the only truck access. The box was quickly scaled back to Engine, Ladder, and Chief 33 before the arrival of other units. South Central EMS Harrisburg checked out the burn victim and units returned to the station. ...
