MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Wed, Mar 1st, 2017 10:25:00 pm - Each month, Colonial Park will highlight a member of the department and their history inside and outside the department. For the Month of March, the Colonial Park Fire Company would like to highlight the service of Lee Witman. Born in Harrisburg, Lee has lived in Colonial Park for most of his life. He would serve in the Marine Corps on active duty from 1950-1954 and continue as a reservist from 1954-1980, retiring as a First Sergeant. During this time Lee would also have his interest peaked in the Fire Company. So in 1957, Lee officially became part of the CPFC family, one that he has been a part of for sixty years, and is still going strong. Throughout his career with the company, Lee achieved the ranks of 2nd assistant chief, 1st assistant chief, and Fire Chief, a position proudly served until 1985. Looking back on his time in the fire service Lee's words of advice to all of us are "The firehouse is a family. We may have rough times, but that's what makes us all close. Always work hard, and never forget all those who were involved to help along the way." Thank You Chief Witman!
