FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Arson Arrest for Large Fire on 100 block of Wyndham Way
Colonial Park, PA - May 16, 2017 – The Colonial Park Fire Company was advised by the Lower Paxton Police Department that an arrest was made in the April 17, 2017 3-alarm fire on 100 block of Wyndham Way which damaged four townhomes, a fire on May 5, 2017 in the 4900 block of Berkley Street and two fires set on May 7, 2017 in the 100 Block of Wyndham Way.
The Colonial Park Fire Company has learned that a FORMER member has been arrested and charged with arson for the above referenced fires. The company can confirm that Jake Reader joined the company in December of 2012 and was removed from the company in November of 2016 for issues unrelated to the fire or cause for suspicion that he may commit arson.
The Colonial Park Fire Company is heartbroken about these tragic events. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were affected by these senseless acts. The Colonial Park Fire Company strongly condemns the acts of former member Mr. Reader and we are here to assist law enforcement and the community in which we serve to help get resolution to these sickening acts as soon as possible.
We would like to thank the Lower Paxton Police Department, Dauphin County Criminal Investigation Division, and Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) for their assistance in bringing the investigation to a successful conclusion.
The reprehensible actions of this individual and his former membership with our company does not represent this company or the fire service as a whole. Our mission has not changed. The Colonial Park Fire Company will continue to serve the community and its citizens with honor, dignity, and devotion.
