FATAL HOUSE FIRE ON COLONIAL ROAD

Mon, Jul 3rd, 2017 7:54:00 pm - Saturday morning, Company 33 along with mutual aid units were dispatched for a report of a house fire in the 800-block of Colonial Road. Updated information placed the address in the 1800-block of Colonial Road in Linglestown's first-due area. Chief 33 arrived with a garage fire and extension into the house. The first engine was ordered to wagon pipe the bulk of the fire while deploying a hand line into the residence. Engine 33 secured a secondary water supply and provided manpower. The truck company worked on searches. A first alarm was struck and control was marked in 45 minutes from dispatch. Unfortunately, a single elderly man was killed in the fire.
