33 RESPONDS TO FIRST DUE HOUSE FIRE

Tue, Feb 19th, 2019 3:09:00 pm - COLONIAL PARK, PA – This morning at 10:00, Dauphin County Department of Public Safety received multiple calls for a report of a house on fire on Rosewood Drive in Colonial Park, Lower Paxton Township. Initial units from Colonial Park Fire Company arrived with a large amount of fire from the rear of the house. The fire was put under control in an hour with several more hours required to ensure all hot spots were fully extinguished. Fire attack was complicated by a collapsed water main during initial firefighting efforts. The house is a total loss from the fire and estimated damages are $250,000 in property and contents. Two adults and one child were displaced by the fire. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians, but one cat perished in the blaze. Fire apparatus from Colonial Park, Paxtonia, Linglestown, Susquehanna Township, Swatara Township, South Central EMS and Lower Paxton Police all assisted at the fire scene. The fire is currently under investigation by the Lower Paxton Township Fire Marshal. Elizabethtown Fire Company from Lancaster County covered the Colonial Park area during the fire for additional calls.
